The Archos 10 is a re-branded Hasee netbook computer. It's Archos' first entry into the somewhat novel and booming netbook market. The hardware is heavenly grand what you earn in netbooks accurate now, unless you exercise $900 on the Sony P (which is a mighty and sexy diagram), but who wants to utilize $900 on a netbook?
What you net in software is not standard, you regain a $50 credit for the Archos Media Club (movies), and while the list of movies is short and some are quite passe, there are some decent titles on there, and free is a superb thing. You also fetch IBM Lotus Symphony for office type work. 50 free songs and one free audiobook when you note up with emusic, and a free anti-virus program that works quite well.
My wife has a HP mini and out of the two the main inequity is software on the Archos, and that I paid nearly $100.00 less on Amazon for the Archos.
Here are the pros and cons:
Pros: $50 movie credit, free software, free music deal, nice crisp exhibit. Gargantuan Hard Drive, bigger than most netbooks have, this is a tremendous feature since you are most likely going to be using it for movies and music.
Cons: Keyboard is miniaturized, making it difficult to type on. Number keys slightly offset from regular keyboards, so if you're a typer you will hit the contaminated number all the time.
Touchpad doesn't have the typical scroll feature found on other netbooks and laptops, you'll have to exhaust the up down arrow keys or tap the up/down arrows at the edge of the veil.
Overall I would recommend this netbook, you're not likely to be doing heavy typing on it anyway, and for the sign you will be hard pressed to acquire this grand with another manufacturer.
I purchased the Archos 10 from Amazon for $258. At this mark I couldn't go improper. I have had the netbook for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier. The battery life is great with the 6 cell battery (5-7 hours I estimate) . The only complaints I have are celebrated to most netbooks (keyboard size, etc) . The LED backlit LCD is one of the best I've seen, the conceal even looks safe in content sunlight. I loaded windows 7 RC and it handles it well for web exhaust and video streaming. Overall, I was a dinky scared when I ordered it that I wouldn't like it, but I have absolutely no regrets (especially for the tag) .
Arrived as promised, (Amazon is Proper) had all the parts, some fun entertainment features, nice to have XP again. The built in camera and microphone work quite well and you can hear the speakers. Did have some communication issues between wireless modem and pc. Called Archos befriend, waiting per recording to an off observe time, on beget 23 minutes then allowed to leave message for a call aid which never came. After 4 hours of internet research figured out what "I" was doing infamous...was not an equipment predicament. Befriend tech could have probably identified a fix in a limited or two.
HEY..ARCHOS you construct a amazing tablet and decent enough mini pc, hire a couple of folks to grasp calls! Cost you a star.
